About
Jon Pivko has been making films and writing stories ever since picking up a camera, and a pen, at age 8. He is a filmmaker, writer, photographer and father based in northeastern New Jersey.
He dropped out of film school after realizing he could experience the same creative anxiety and crushing uncertainty for free. Since then, he’s spent most of his adult life oscillating between existential dread and delusions of grandeur.
By day, he’s a New York City wedding photographer. By night, he makes independent films and writes essays and fiction about the quiet (and occasionally loud) panic of being alive in the 21st century. He lives in the suburbs with his family, 63 cameras, 4 typewriters, and a growing distrust of algorithms, late-stage capitalism, and casual fascism.
